GTA 6 Release Date, PC Version, Trailers and Rumors — Community Megathread

This thread is meant to collect the most important Grand Theft Auto VI information in one place.

GTA 6 is one of those games where every small detail turns into a discussion: release dates, trailers, map clues, character theories, PC version speculation, pricing rumors, GTA Online questions, and the usual Rockstar silence between major updates.

Instead of opening a separate topic for every small rumor, this can work as a central place to follow the bigger picture.

I’ll try to keep the first post updated when new official information or major credible updates appear.

Last updated: May 2026

Official Release Date

Rockstar currently lists Grand Theft Auto VI for release on:

November 19, 2026

That is the official date shown by Rockstar at the moment. Rockstar also confirmed the November 19, 2026 delay in a Newswire post. (Rockstar Games)

Before that, GTA 6 had already been moved from an earlier release window. Because of that, it is still worth treating random “final date” claims carefully until Rockstar gets closer to launch and starts the full marketing push.

For now, November 19, 2026 is the date to follow.

Confirmed Platforms

At the moment, Rockstar has officially confirmed GTA 6 for:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S

There is no official PC release date yet.

That does not mean a PC version will never happen. Rockstar has brought major GTA releases to PC before, but until the company confirms it, any PC date is still speculation.

What About the GTA 6 PC Version?

This is probably one of the biggest questions around the game.

Right now, there is no official GTA 6 PC release date.

Some rumors suggest that the PC version could arrive after the console launch, possibly sometime in 2027, but that has not been confirmed by Rockstar.

For now, the safest way to say it is:

GTA 6 is confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version is widely expected, but not officially dated.

That distinction matters, because a lot of GTA 6 PC “release dates” floating around online are based on leaks, store guesses, or social media claims rather than official information.

Official Trailers and Store Links

GTA 6 Trailer 1

GTA 6 Trailer 1 introduced Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional state inspired by Florida, including the return of Vice City. Rockstar’s official Trailer 1 page describes Leonida as home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond. (Rockstar Games)

GTA 6 Trailer 2

Trailer 2 gave a closer look at Jason, Lucia, Vice City, the surrounding areas and the more cinematic side of the game. Rockstar officially published Trailer 2 on its own site. (Rockstar Games)

Setting: Leonida and Vice City

GTA 6 takes place in Leonida, with Vice City as the main recognizable location.

Based on Rockstar’s official material and trailers, the game seems to include:

  • neon-heavy city streets
  • beaches and nightlife
  • highways and suburbs
  • swamp-like areas
  • coastal regions
  • small towns and rural spaces
  • social media-inspired moments
  • a strong Florida-style cultural tone

Vice City is obviously the headline location, but Leonida seems much larger than just one city.

That is probably why map discussions around GTA 6 are so active. People are not just asking “how big is the map?” They are also trying to understand how many different regions, cultures and moods Rockstar is building into the world.

Jason and Lucia

GTA 6 appears to follow Jason and Lucia as the central duo.

From what Rockstar has shown so far, their relationship seems to be a major part of the story. The trailers give off a crime-partner energy rather than the three-character structure used in GTA V.

That does not confirm every gameplay detail, but it does suggest a more focused character dynamic.

The big question is how Rockstar will handle switching between them, missions built around both characters, and whether the story will let players experience events from different perspectives.

GTA 6 Online and Multiplayer

There is no doubt that the online side of GTA 6 will be a huge topic.

GTA Online became one of Rockstar’s biggest long-term platforms, so people naturally expect GTA 6 to have a major online component too.

However, the exact timing and structure are not fully clear yet.

Some rumors suggest GTA 6 Online may launch after the main game instead of on day one. That would not be surprising, but until Rockstar confirms the plan, it should stay in the rumor category.

Things people are expecting or discussing:

  • a new version of GTA Online
  • roleplay-friendly systems
  • evolving map events
  • long-term live service updates
  • more social tools
  • creator-focused features
  • possible economy and property systems

Again, most of this is not official yet. It is just where the community discussion is heading.

Price and Pre-Order Rumors

There have already been rumors about GTA 6 pricing, including claims about higher-than-usual pricing or premium editions.

At the moment, I would not treat any price leak as final.

Retail listings can be placeholders. Analysts can guess. Stores can prepare pages before official details are ready.

Until Rockstar or Take-Two gives exact pricing, the only honest answer is:

GTA 6 pricing has not been fully confirmed yet.

The same applies to pre-orders. If pre-order information appears, it is better to wait for an official Rockstar or platform store announcement before treating it as final.

PC System Requirements

There are no official GTA 6 PC system requirements yet.

Any list online right now is just a prediction.

That includes CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and SSD requirements. Some guesses may be reasonable, but they are still guesses.

A realistic expectation is that GTA 6 will be demanding when it eventually comes to PC, especially if Rockstar keeps the same level of density shown in the trailers. But we should not present any specific PC specs as official until Rockstar announces them.

For now:

No official PC system requirements have been released.

Rumors and Leaks

GTA 6 has a huge rumor ecosystem around it. Some rumors may turn out to be true. Many will not.

Common discussion points include:

  • more enterable buildings
  • detailed interiors
  • advanced NPC behavior
  • 911-style emergency reactions
  • character ability systems
  • underwater exploration
  • body weight or appearance changes
  • police response improvements
  • a larger role for social media-style systems
  • GTA Online launching after story mode
  • PC arriving after consoles
  • pricing above the usual AAA standard

Some of these sound believable because they fit Rockstar’s direction. But believable does not mean confirmed.

For this thread, the best approach is simple:

Official information goes in the confirmed section. Rumors stay clearly marked as rumors.

That keeps the thread useful instead of turning it into a random leak archive.

Why This Thread Exists

GTA 6 is going to be discussed for months, probably years.

Instead of letting every rumor become a messy separate topic, this megathread can work as a clean starting point for:

  • official news
  • trailer analysis
  • platform updates
  • PC version discussion
  • credible leaks
  • map theories
  • pricing talk
  • GTA Online speculation
  • community reactions

If something major happens, the first post can be updated and the discussion can continue below.

Community Discussion

What are you most interested in right now?

  • the story and Jason/Lucia dynamic?
  • the map and Vice City?
  • the PC version?
  • GTA 6 Online?
  • system requirements?
  • price and editions?
  • trailer details?
  • Rockstar’s release strategy?

Personally, I think the biggest thing to watch is the PC version.

The console release date is now clear, but the PC side is still the big unanswered question. If Rockstar follows its usual pattern, PC players may have to wait longer, but the eventual PC version could also become the most technically impressive version of the game.

For now, this thread can stay as the main GTA 6 tracking and discussion topic.
